Its been a few weeks since I've logged my training, so hopefully I get back in the habit right now. This week was pretty good and I feel fairly confident going into this Cross Country season.
Monday:
We did a little bit of tempo work at the park. Mark made me wear a heart rate monitor, which is a contraption I don't particularly like. I was trying to keep my heart rate at about 175, and was going pretty slow while doing it. It felt too easy. I later realized it was probably because I took off during the long run on Saturday the last 15 minutes or so. My body probably hadn't recovered. So I kind of ruined that workout. But we did 4x6min with 2 minutes rest after a 20 minute warmup. We then did a cool down and helped Chris finish his workout as he had gotten there a little late. Overall I put in probably about 7 or 8 miles.
Tuesday:
75 minute run at Aldergrove park. It was nice and pleasant and probably put in around 9.5-10 miles.
Wednesday:
AM- Went out to Fort Langley and ran Fort to Fort trail out 17 minutes and back. Came out to just under 5 miles, so I'll estimate 4 1/2. Had some teriyaki chicken and rice at the sushi shop in town right afterwards.
PM- Ran around the track barefoot for 45 minutes. The first three miles on the track and the last 3.5 miles on the infield.
Thursday:
Good workout day with the team. We did 20 minutes warmup and then some drills. We took out our HRMs and went for a 22 minute tempo run. Kept my heart rate between 170 and 175 the whole time. We went out for 10 minutes and came back, the goal being to be at the place we started at when we hit 20 minutes. I hit the line at 20:03. Afterwards was 6 little hill repeats and a cool down. It was probably around 8 miles.
Friday:
Same as Wednesday, except the evening run I took even easier and ran some of it with Cheddy, so only put in 5.5 miles but the first 14 laps was on the track and the last 8 were on the infield.
Saturday:
Early morning run Fort to Fort. 86 minutes total with about 12 miles run.
Total mileage: ~58 miles
